Directory Orders

The PTO would like to thank you for your patience with the directory difficulties this year.  Although there were about 200 families affected by this, we think that the online entry system worked quite well.  We had a high school student design and maintain the database and was able to count that towards his Silver Chord hours for graduation.  He did a wonderful job and we thank him for his efforts.

Each year the directory is a very time consuming project.  In the past we have had a wonderful set of volunteers who have overseen this project.  The new database entry system reduced the time that it took to manually enter each family, nevertheless, it still required a significant amount of volunteer time.

  We are always looking for help and if you have any ideas on ways to streamline this project even more, we would be grateful if you want to volunteer to help with it next year.  

Again, we appreciate your patience and understanding and hope that the PTO will be able to continue to offer the directory in the future.  We can assure you that we will be researching companies before the start of the next school year to ensure that we do not have any problems with data loss in the future.

Addendum and Directory Orders

The directory, for those who have not received one, is in the process of being printed along with the addendum.  

For those who were affected by the information loss, a directory was not ordered for them as the amount we ordered was based off of the database not PayPal.  It was necessary to use those numbers due to cash/check payment entries.  

The printer is hopeful that we will have them the week of the 28th.  

If you have not received one, a directory and the addendum will be sent home with your student.

If you have already received a directory, an addendum will be sent home with your student.

Again, we appreciate your patience.  

This is a service offered by the PTO each year and the time requirement is significant.  We are grateful for the many people who have volunteered in this capacity in the past.  We are always looking for volunteers to help with this time consuming project each fall.  Because so many people utilize the directory, we are hopeful that we can continue offering it, but we will need more people willing to volunteer in the future.

Directories

There have been a few questions about the directory order.  No information that was submitted via PayPal has been compromised.  The information lost occurred only on the data entry website which did not contain any payment data.  Thank you.

PTO Directory Update


The Waukee PTO has verified that there are many people who have not yet received their directory.  We discovered that a technical glitch beyond our control deleted any entries that were ordered online between August 31st and September 5th.  As such, you were not included in the directory.  


For those who have directories in their possession, we are currently working on an addendum with the missing names to be sent home with your student.  


For those who did not receive a directory, we are offering you the option of receiving the directory and an addendum or a refund if you prefer not to get one. We are now in the process of contacting the names that are missing from the directory and getting them manually entered into the addendum so that it can be printed as soon possible.


We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.  The PTO volunteers appreciate your understanding as we get this corrected.  Thank you.

PTO Directory

The Waukee PTO has verified that there are many people who have not yet received their directory.  If you have not received yours, please be patient.  We are working on finding out why the error was caused and starting the process of having additional directories printed.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but we hope that you will be patient as the PTO volunteers try to determine what caused the error and get it corrected as soon as possible.  Although this error is minimal in relative terms, we understand that it is not if it has affected you, and for that we apologize.  We appreciate your support with the new ordering system this year and can assure you that the mistake will be corrected so we do not have difficulties in the future.  The PTO volunteers appreciate your understanding as we get this corrected.  Thank you.

South Middle School Book Fair

South Middle School is in need of volunteers for the Book Fair.  The book fair will be held November 1st-November 8th.  Please email Julie Pals if you are interested in volunteering for this great event.  The time commitment is minimal and the proceeds benefit our beautiful school library.

PTO District Directory



Waukee Parent–Teacher Organization
Student Directory Form 2011-2012

The PTO is excited to announce that the Student Directory can be ordered online this year.

The PTO Student Directory is a helpful tool that provides contact information for fellow students, schools and other community members. The directory is made available for personal use by school district families and staff and is not intended for business solicitations. To be included in the directory, you must complete the form online by September 16th.  The cost this year is $9.00 per book.  All information received will not be edited and will appear in the book as entered online.   To access the online ordering system please click on the link on the upper right hand side of the website.  Payments will be accepted through Paypal.

The option to enter your family information without purchasing a book is an option.

District PTO Openings

The Waukee District PTO has a few volunteer openings for the 2011/2012 school year. 

The positions open are:

Prairieview VP


Responsible for facilitating conference meals and/or other fundraising events.

High School VP


Responsible for facilitating conference meals and/or other fundraising events.

District Secretary

The District Secretary shall record and deliver the minutes of all meetings of the Organization; and shall perform other duties such as, but not inclusive to:  recording attendance at each meeting, correspondence, collection and distribution of general Waukee PTO mail.  Also responsible for having all board members read and sign a copy of the current by-laws and to maintain and be familiar with Robert’s Rules of Order.


District Membership


Responsible for collecting and entering paper data for the Waukee PTO directory, deposit fund associated with directory, contracting a local printer, and delivery of directory to specific schools.

School Supplies

For those families that have ordered school supplies, they will be delivered to the schools on August 15th and will be available for you to either pick up at the entrance or will be placed on your child's desk before the start of the Open House later that evening.  Please let us know if you ordered one and did not receive it, or if you have any other questions about your order.
